Investment Process

  • Bottom-up fund selection process: underlying fund positions are chosen according to our rigorous bottom-up selection process. An investment is only made after we have performed in-depth due diligence on the management's track record, investment process and risk management abilities. Process aims to identify both 'quality mangers' and 'future winners'.
  • Top-down asset allocation process: the portfolio's geographic/asset class allocation is benchmark aware, but not benchmark driven. We use the FTSE World ex UK Index as a starting point, to ensure a level of global diversification, and then weight the portfolio to take into account our macro views; the resulting portfolio is geographically diversified but skewed toward undervalued markets.
  • Portfolio construction: positions sized according to conviction; risk managed at the portfolio level.
